Communication in Serious Illness
Target audience: healthcare teams such as physicians, nurses, social workers and other healthcare providers.
This 2.5 hour didactic sessions objectives will review the need for a systematic approach to having more, better and earlier conversations about patient values and priorities in serious illness, define a population with serious illness who may benefit from the serious illness conversation, and learn how to improve communication in patients with serious illness with a structured communication tool. During this highly interactive workshop participants will have the opportunity to practice case study conversations.
